What is AAR

What is it all about?

AAR is a not-for-profit organization managed and maintained by an all-volunteer staff. Our mission is to end the unnecessary euthanasia of helpless, unwanted animals and place them in permanent homes, and to properly educate the public about responsible pet ownership.

AAR is a Cat & Dog Center that includes a no-kill adoption shelter, an affordable spay-neuter clinic, a wellness center, and community education outreach. Founded in 2002 by three dedicated animal lovers; Angie Fenton, Barbara Schulz, and James Gordon, AAR is entirely managed and maintained by volunteers.

Where we are going

Although our mission statement says we want to end the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable cats and dogs, we know that is a distant destination. So AAR, with your support, will continue working towards making our community a no-kill, safe haven for homeless pets.

How we are making a difference

Because AAR realizes spay/neuter is the only solution to pet overpopulation and unnecessary euthanasia, part of our mission is to provide affordable spay/neuter to the public in our spay/neuter clinic and wellness center. A dedicated team of trained clinic volunteers assist the veterinarian and staff the office.
