Spay and Neuter Clinic

 

AAR’s spay and neuter clinic is open to the public on select days. For days and hours, and to schedule an appointment for your pet, please call 832-229-0842 or email: clinic@aartexas.org.

Please leave a detailed message with your name, address, phone number, pet’s name, and the dates you will be available to schedule surgery.

Animals younger than 7 years of age can have surgery without required blood work. Animals 7 years and older are required to have blood work to determine if it is safe to operate. 

Please print out and complete the Cat Surgery Pack or Dog Surgery Pack and bring them to your appointment.

Spay and Neuter post-op instructions for cats and dogs

Cat surgeries

  • Cats must be dropped off at the clinic between 7-7:30 a.m. the day of the surgery. Late arrivals may need to be rescheduled and may be charged a Missed Appointment Fee of $25.
  • Cats must be in a hard carrier, one cat per carrier please. If cats are not easily handled by strangers, they must be in a Humane trap. AAR has loaner traps that can be borrowed with a $75 check deposit, which is returned after the trap is returned.
  • Cats must be picked up between 3-4 p.m. the day of the surgery to avoid a $25 late fee. We do not call to remind owners to pick up their pet.

Cat Spay (Female): $80; additional $15 – $35 if the cat is pregnant or in heat

Cat Neuter (Male): $55

Feral Cat Pack: $55, Includes sterilization, rabies vaccination, flea prevention, ear mite treatment, and ear tip. All feral cats must be in a humane trap, otherwise you will be charged regular pricing. Feral cats do not require an appointment. Drop off for ferals is between 7am – 8am Tuesday and Thursday. Pick-up is between 3pm – 4 pm the day of the surgery.

Additional Post Op Oral Pain Medication: $10

Microchipping: $25 (Recommended for spays)

Obesity Fee: $25 – $50

Additional Surgeries and Charges:

  • Declined Surgery Fee, once anesthesia is already administered:
    $25 – $75
  • Umbilical Hernia Repair: $25

Vaccinations with Spay and Neuter:

  • Cat Rabies Vaccination with spay or neuter, REQUIRED, unless current rabies certificate copy is shown at drop-off: $15
  • FVRCP/C (Feline Distemper): $15
  • FeLV (Feline Leukemia): $15

Feline Laboratory Tests:

  • FeLV/FIV Combo Test: $25
  • Fecal Flotation: $10
  • Skin Scrape: $15
  • Ear Cytology: $15
  • Health Check #1chem 25 amy/lip CBC, determines if candidate is fit for surgery: $95
  • Senior Screen #865 chem 25 T4 CBC U4, clears senior cats ages 7+ for surgery: $120
  • Blood Work – Consult with Veterinarian

 

Dog surgeries

  • Dogs must be dropped off at the clinic between 7:30-8 a.m. the day of the surgery. Late arrivals may need to be rescheduled and may be charged a Missed Appointment Fee of $25.
  • Dogs must be on a leash.
  • Dog owners are required to wait at the clinic until our Veterinarian has examined their dog to approve them for surgery that morning.
  • Dogs must be picked up between 3-4 p.m. the day of the surgery to avoid a $25 Late Fee. We do not call to remind owners to pick up their pet.

Dog Spay (Female):

  • Dogs 25 lbs and under: $95
  • Dogs 26 – 49 lbs: $110
  • Dogs 50 – 79 lbs: $125
  • Additional $25 – $75 may be assessed if the dog is pregnant or in heat

Dog Neuter (Male):

  • Dogs 25 lbs and under: $85
  • Dogs 26 – 49 lbs: $100
  • Dogs 50 – 79 lbs: $115

Additional Post Op Oral Pain Medication: $10 (Recommended for spays)

  • Dew Claw Removal: $30 each. Only removed during spay or neuter surgery and only if they are detached.
  • Umbilical Hernia Repair: $25

Vaccinations with Spay and Neuter:

  • Rabies (REQUIRED, unless current rabies certificate copy is shown at drop-off): $15
  • DAPPV (Canine Distemper/ Parvo): $15
  • Lepto (Leptosporosis): $15
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough): $15
  • Canine Influenza for two strains: $20

Canine Laboratory Tests

  • Dog Heartworm Test: $25
  • Fecal Flotation: $10
  • Skin Scrape: $15
  • Ear Cytology: $15
