Gift Acceptance Policy

Abandoned Animal Rescue (AAR) solicits and accepts gifts that are consistent with its mission and that support its core programs, as well as special projects.

Donations and other forms of support will generally be accepted from individuals, partnerships, corporations, foundations, government agencies, or other entities, subject to the following limitations: a) donations must be delivered to the agency or prior pick-up arranged, b) in new or nearly new condition, c) free of restrictions on use of funds without prior agreement by AAR.

Gifts of Real Property, Personal Property or Securities may only be accepted upon approval of AAR’s Board and Finance Committee.

 Gift Refund Policy

We are grateful for your donation and support of our organization. Donations are normally nonrefundable but if you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to our organization we will honor your request for a refund if made within 15 business days of your donation. We will issue refunds either to the credit card used or by check (no cash refunds).

If an event is canceled or rescheduled, you may choose to have your ticket purchase or sponsorship donation: a) honored at a future date, b) converted to a donation with no fair market value for tax purposes, or c) refunded.

A refund nullifies your donation for tax purposes; if you have been issued a receipt for tax purposes, AAR may be required to report the refund to the IRS on Form 1099. Please check with your financial advisor regarding the tax implications of a donation refund.
