Did you know that AAR has an active Return-to-Owner team that helps lost pets get home? This is one of the many ways volunteers support our pledge of Giving Paws a Helping Hand™.

When your beloved dog or cat strays from home, it can be a traumatic experience for both of you. AAR volunteers work hard to reunite pets with their family.

Visit AAR’s website – http://www.aartexas.org – for more info on what to if you find or lose a pet and links to AAR’s lost-and-found pets blog and online pet-finding resources. Email: [email protected]

What AAR does:

When someone contacts AAR that they have found/lost a pet or want to surrender a found pet, we have a plan!

The RTO team posts pictures on AAR’s Lost and Found Pets blog, researches microchip information, refers the rescuer or parent to online pet-finding resources like Pawboost, Nextdoor, Pet FBI and more.

What can you do?

ID your pet! A pet—even an indoor pet—has a better chance of being returned if always wearing a collar and an ID tag with your name, address and telephone number.

And get your pet microchipped! All AAR pets are microchipped before adoption.

Abandoned Animal Rescue is entirely managed and maintained by volunteers.

This means that all the money raised or donated goes towards caring for cats and dogs, and maintaining the quality of the shelter and its grounds. AAR raises money through adoption fees, clinic fees, donations from supporters, and fundraisers.
